Comenzó su carrera deportiva como gimnasta en YMCA desde que tenía dos años de edad. A los 8 años empezó a competir por el YMCA, Illinois Gymnastics Institute y por College of William and Mary en donde se graduó en licenciada en marketing.
A los 21 años se retira de la gimnasia y después de probar un par de años en diferentes cosas se encontró con la helterofilia. Empezó a competir en el 2000 y desde entonces ha participado en 20 eventos nacionales.
En el 2002 durante la participación de un evento de levantamiento de pesas fue reclutada para formar parte de un equipo de bobsled para representar a Estados Unidos.
Se está preparando para participar en los juegos olímpicos en Sochi, Russia (2014) en bobsled.
